More Information and Q&A

What I offer and how I will help.

What are the Locations?

As of now, I do not have my own facility, however, I have access to local YMCAs within the Bangor area along with outdoor and home courts. YMCA locations require purchasing a membership in order to gain access.  I also train at Eastern Maine Sports Academy in Veazie Maine for Results Basketball Training. For more information on that, go to resultsbasketball.net and reach out to Matt Makenzie for information on how to get me or the other amazing trainers to help you with your game.

Where does my skill have to be to work with ABT?

Players of all skill levels are welcome to join whether you're just learning how to play the game or if you've played for several years. I do not discriminate against anyone who wants to get something from this program and I will do everything I can to ensure that it's valuable to you.

What will I need for these training sessions?

You do not need a hoop in order to improve your game with me but if you have access to one we will use it. All you'll need is a basketball, some goals, and a lot of drive.

How does the ABT process work?

On your very first day of training with me, we will go over your goals, the way you want to perform in games, and how we can work toward making those things happen. I will also provide workout documents that will help you keep track of your shooting performance in order to see improvements over time. I have an easy way for you to customize your own drill and keep track of your improvements that way as well.

Once the real training starts, it's all about you. Nothing will be predetermined in the workout since everything we do will be specific toward what you want to improve upon during our sessions. I will have drills that are intended to make you feel more fatigued and exhausted as you would in a real game. Many of the drills that I do are something I call "Game Simulation Drills" which will prepare you the most for what you are working towards.

What should I expect from the group sessions versus the personal sessions?

The main difference between these and the personal training sessions is that the workouts will be scripted and everyone will be performing the same drill. For more challenging drills I will have an easier version prepared for athletes who are at various skill levels.

What separates ABT from other basketball training programs?

  • Instagram
  • Facebook

The biggest thing that separates ABT is the engagement I have with athletes. Everything we do is for and about you. Each day of workouts will be different than the last since I want to introduce new things for you to improve upon that you haven't already been taught so that you can grow at the fastest rate possible. You will often hear me ask questions about past seasons, what other coaches want from you, and how you feel about basketball in general. We will not just work on your physical ability to play the game but also your mental ability helping you build and grow confidence in yourself.
